This weeks lesson began with walking around the room and we would say one line/noise in which our character either says in the play or we think would say. This was a good warm up because it allowed us to work on the projection, clarity, diction and characterisation of our voices. I also learnt that pushing yourself further vocally in Great Expectations' is needed due to the fact that it is a minimalistic, and the audience do not have any other language aid but your acting. Vocal decisions also provokes a enhanced effort in your body language/body characterisation.
We started off at the battery scene and started work on the Gargery parlour scene. It was made clear in these scenes how important smooth changes and transitions between the scene was going to be in this show. They are important because their cannot be any 'dead' or 'dry' areas where the audience is allowed to drift off. I also began thinking and listing the props which are completely necessary, as this is my job role and I had some time off of stage.
